Job Description

As a valued member of our team, your role is pivotal in assisting the General Manager in organizing, supervising, and executing all designated tasks to ensure the seamless operation of the department.

 

Job Responsibilities

Pre-Contract

  • Source and negotiate with suppliers to procure high-quality building materials at competitive prices, optimizing project cost-effectiveness
  • Collaborate with the project team to prepare comprehensive tender Bills of Quantities (BQ), meticulously detailing all project requirements and specifications
  • Conduct thorough reviews of consultants’ drawings and tender documents, identifying discrepancies and coordinating with stakeholders to resolve issues promptly
  • Prepare detailed tender reports, providing valuable insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making by management
  • Assist in the preparation of letters of award and other contractual documents, ensuring clarity and compliance with project requirements
  • ⁠Contribute to the rationalization of tender BQ rates, leveraging industry knowledge and expertise to optimize project budgets effectively

 

Post-Contract

  • Attend and actively participate in site meetings and joint valuations, providing expert advice and insights to support project progress assessments
  • Maintain effective communication and coordination with consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders to facilitate seamless project execution and timely delivery
  • Prepare accurate Recommendations of Progress Payment, Variation Orders, and Statements of Final Account, adhering to strict quality and documentation standards
  • Assist in compiling comprehensive contract binding documents, ensuring all contractual obligations are clearly defined and agreed upon by all parties
  • Undertake any additional duties as assigned by Management, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting project objectives and organizational goals

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of proven experience in quantity surveying or related roles, with a demonstrated track record of successful project delivery and client satisfaction
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex technical drawings and documents accurately
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a collaborative approach to working in cross-functional teams
  • Sound knowledge of construction industry practices, regulations, and contractual procedures
  • Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin and English
